1997) - a compilation of in-depth articles written by
leading economists of Bangladesh on the nature of Free Market
Economics and its impact on different sectors. The Editor
also wrote a chapter on 'good governance and market economy'
in the publication.
2.Bitorko
(Debating), Ed. by, (Dhaka, Shandesh, 1996) - a collection
of articles written by prominent debaters of Bangladesh (based
on their practical experiences) about concept, structures
and strategies of debate. The Editor authored a substantial
portion of the publication on forms of debate, and strategies
for public speaking.

Media and the Growth of National Security Laws in Asia (2002):
Presented the theme paper 'Media at a Cross Road' at the Regional
NGO Workshop on Democracy and Security of the People in the
Asian Region held on 23-25 August 2002, jointly organised
by Asia Forum for Human Rights and Development (Forum Asia),
Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC), Suara Rakyat Malaysia
(Suaram), and Transnational Institute (TNI) in Nakhon Nayok,
Thailand.
2. The Politics of National Human Rights Commission:
Presented the keynote paper at the British Council Dialogue
on the Politics of National Human Rights Commission held on
16 February 2002 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Combating Dowry Legally: Presented a theme paper on 'Combating
Dowry Legally - An Indian Context' at the 'South Asian Conference
on Dowry: Realities & Strategies for Intervention' held
on 30-31 January 2002 organised by the British Council and
Women for Women in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Violence against Children in Bangladesh (2001) -Presented
a Country Paper on 'the State of Violence against Children
in Bangladesh' at the 2001 World Congress on Family Law and
the Rights of Children and Youth' held on 21 September 2001
in Bath, England.

Human Rights and Development: Litigating Right to Adequate
Housing (2001) - Presented a Thematic Paper at a working session
on 'Justiciability of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights'
of the 'Regional Workshop on the Role of Human Rights Institutions
and Other Mechanisms in Promoting and Protecting Economic,
Social and Cultural Rights' jointly organized by the Asia
Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions and the
Hong Kong Equal Opportunities Commission in Hong Kong. Part
of the presentation was also published in the Daily Star.

Impunity of Law Enforcing Agencies (2000) - Presented
the Theme Paper in an Open Discussion organised by Odhikar,
a coalition for human rights in co-operation with Bangladesh
Freedom Foundation in Dhaka. An abridged version of the text
has been published in the Daily Star. Odhikar also published
the text with deliberations of the discussion in a monograph.
7.Ombudsman
for Bangladesh: In Quest of Good Governance (1998) - Presented
the Keynote Paper at the session on Ombudsman in the British
- Bangla Law Week (29 Nov - 5 Dec 1998) jointly organized
by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) of the British
Government and The British Council in Dhaka to commemorate
the 50 years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
(UDHR).
8.Violence
against Women: To Resist is Our Constitutional Obligation
(1997): Presented a Discussion Paper in the Regional Meeting
on 'Ending Violence Against Women and Girl Child in South
Asia' on 23 October 1997 organized by UNICEF in Kathmandu,
Nepal and published in the Daily Star and the Bhorer Kagoj.

Rights Enforcement Mechanisms in South Asia (1996) - Presented
a Working Paper in the Fifth SAARCLAW Conference 1996 organized
by SAARSLAW Bangladesh Chapter in Dhaka.
