The history and development of Human Rights is an often assumed, but little discussed topic. This international conference, to be held in central London in May 2004, will form the culmination of a series of lectures on the History of Human Rights from antiquity to the present. A publication of the lecture series and selected conference papers will be available in 2005. Potential presenters are invited to submit abstracts on the following

Themes:

- Natural Rights and Human Rights
- Human Rights and Religious Faith
- Ethics and Human Rights
- Women and Human Rights
- Universalism versus Culturalism
- Legal issues and implications

Submission Guidelines
Papers, suitable for a thirty minute presentation, must be submitted in abstract form by email only, by 1 October 2003, and include:
- A proposal abstract, including title and outline of presentation - 400 words maximum
- A brief biographical sketch - 100 words maximum
- Full contact details, including email, address, telephone number

Submissions must address processes of historical development - papers dealing solely with ethical and political issues will not be considered.
